  What the show is about:

It is a story of two teenage kids, Jack and Katie, who take a dare that demands that they be in a graveyard on Halloween until midnight.  To their surprise, once the clock tower struck midnight, an array of monsters ascend from their graves.   The monster's included : the Bride of Frankenstein, the Witch, Riff Raff, Werewolf, and a druid who later becomes Frankenstein.  The plot then turns to the Witch's master plan of obtaining a brain for her beloved Frankenstein.  In the end, the Witch is defeated by the her (Jack), and the other monsters are set free of her evil ways, and become independent and good.  It ends with the hero and heroin befriending the monsters and defeating the witch.

What the Role Entailed:

The role demanded that I be able to be a comedic actor, dance both choreographed dances as well as freestyle, and it demanded that I also be able to sing well while dancing all out.  It was the most fun that I ever had on stage because I got to make the character into the person that I wanted to.  I made him a lot like me, and it really worked.  This was the first show that I had ever done where I had to act.

Songs that I Sang:

I had the two showstopping songs because of my ability to pump up the crowd, and because I can sing and dance all out at the same time. The first number that I sang "Mean Green Mother From Outerspace."  This was the longest song in the show, and vocally it demanded that I sing forcefully and aggressive.  The highest note that I had to reach was G, which I could do in my full voice.  The song also demanded that I be able to rap, and look good doing it.  The other song that I sang was "Baby, When the Lights Go Out."  This demanded again that I be able to sing and dance the whole time.  A G was again the highest note, but I did also have to sing in my lower register in a more sexy type tone. Both numbers entailed interaction with the crowd, which is one thing that I am very good at.  I always find a way to get them going.  All background vocals were live.

Dancing:

The dancing was primarily hip-hop.  I had worked with the choreographer before, and she knew what I could do, so she made a lot of choreography specifically for me.  My forte is hip-hop and freestyle, and she allowed me to pretty much improvise through the songs that I sang.  She very rarely gave me choreography because I am excellent at making things look good by freestyling.  So in this show, I had a lot of control over my own choreography and dance moves.  i appreciate the freedom that the choreographer gave me. She allowed me to get better.
